Both types belong to standard flap discs. Type 27 Flat flap discs are the best choice for finishing while Type 29 conical flap discs are ideal for speed and stock removal. The conical type features 15° to 25° angled flaps which increases surface contact with the work piece so is suitable for aggressively grinding contours and edges
